How to Free Export MBOX file to Outlook PST/EML/PDF/HTML/Text file Manually

Exporting all MBOX files to PST/EML/PDF/HTML/Text can be done easily without use of 3rd party software to import the archived MBOX file into PST/EML/PDF file. Please follow the below steps to export all emails from an MBOX file into your PST/EML/PDF/HTML/Text file.

Step 1: Set up & configure your Web Based Email Clients account with Thunderbird

1.    Download and Install Thunderbird exe application version 52.9.1: https://filehippo.com/download_thunderbird/86215/

2. After Launch Thunderbird and Create new setup with existing Web Based Email Clients (suppose Gmail) account

3.    Go to “Tools” on menu bar, then click on “Account Settings”.

4.    Click on “Account Actions” on below side, then click on “Add Mail Account”

5.    Enter your name, email address, and password and click "Continue"

6.    Make sure IMAP is Enable and then click "Done"

7. Thunderbird will automatically get all emails from Web Based Email Clients account
8. Now you will see your Web Based Email Clients account in left-side of the screen and you can open it to see all your emails.
9. Thunderbird is now properly set up for your Web Based Email Clients account

 Step 2: Install "ImportExportTools" Add-On for Thunderbird

1. To download the "ImportExportTools" extension tool that works with Thunderbird, go to - https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
2. On that page, Click on "Download Now" and Save the file the location where you saved the .xpi file.
3. In Thunderbird, go to the menu bar, Click on “Tools” & then click on "Add-Ons"
   
4. In the Add-ons Manager tab that opens, go to the “setting icon", then "Install Add-on From File" 
   
5. Locate the .xpi file that you downloaded and follow the instructions prompted to install
6. Restart Thunderbird

Step 3:  Save/Export all email Folders or email messages from MBOX Thunderbird to EML/PDF/HTML/Plain Text

1.    Select Email Folder of your Web mail account, then Right Mouse Click and Choose “ImportExportTools” >> “Export All Messages in the folder” >> Select one file format [EML, PDF, HTML, Plain Text], that you want to save.

2.    Select Destination Path where you want to save file, then select Folder.

3.    See at images, display the status of exporting process

4.    Check all successfully saved file format like EML, PDF, etc

Step 4: Import Mailbox (.EML) from Outlook express to MS Outlook

NOTE: To export into PST file please ensure that MS Outlook must be installed properly 

1. Open MS outlook
2. Now, Go to "File" menu bar, then click on "Import and Export" option.
3.  “Import and Export Wizard” dialogue box will open up and asking you to “Choose an action to perform” then Click on “Import from another program or file” and then click on “Next” button to continue.
4.  “Import a file” dialogue box will open up and asking you to “Select file type to import from” then Click on “Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Window Mail” and then click on “Next” button to continue.
5. Select the .eml file to import from the Browser option and click next
6. Select finish after the process completed.
7. User can find the imported .eml mailbox in your MS Outlook.
